You’ll have regular 1:1 video chat sessions with your personal health coach every 2 weeks. They’ll help build a custom plan, and build your confidence to stick with it for the long-haul with texts to support and guide you.

Obesity is complex. Far more complex than just "eat less & exercise more". Board-certified obesity doctors regularly prescribe FDA-approved medications, including what are called GLP-1s: glucagon-like peptide-1s. In peer-reviewed research these medications, in combination with lifestyle change, are one of the most effective ways to get to a healthier weight.

Your metabolic health is affected by stress eating, how well you sleep, and how much you exercise. Researchers call these the pillars of metabolic health. These are difficult habits to change, but evidence suggests improving these pillars is key to long-term success in staying at a healthier weight.

The clinicians prescribe various weight-loss medications, including GLP-1s (glucagon-like peptide-1s), depending on your personal situation. GLP-1s are naturally occurring hormones that send signals to your brain to decrease your appetite, improve your metabolic function, and increase satiety. Research suggests that people who are at a higher weight show reduction in GLP-1 signalling. The medications that the specialist doctors prescribe work on the same receptors as your natural GLP-1 hormones. Originally developed to treat type 2 diabetes, in 2014 the FDA approved the use of a brand of GLP-1s for tackling obesity in people without type 2 diabetes. The medication prescribed by the specialist doctor isn't a short-term fix. But by safely lowering your set point, the GLP-1 medications available today help you reduce your body weight in combination with lifestyle changes.

We connect you with a clinician that specialized in weight loss. If you do not have blood work from the previous 12-months, they will help organize a comprehensive health screening at a local lab. You then talk these through with your clinician to assess your current metabolic health so they can personalize your treatment plan and prescribe medication suited to you. In a video appointment, your specialist clinician will review this screening and your medical history — then answer any of your questions about the treatment plan.
A comprehensive screening which may include:
CBC (complete blood count)
CMP (comprehensive metabolic panel)
TSH (Thyroid-stimulating hormone)
HbA1c (Hemoglobin A1c)
Lipid panel
Additional testing may include an EKG (in patients with a history of cardiac disorders and stroke), and a complete thyroid panel depending on your medical history.
